I like to believe that I live a healthy lifestyle, but one of my aims this year is to live it even healthier. For me, health equals happy because I always feel so much better and happier when I ''live'' a healthy lifestyle with good foods and exercise. It is so important to take good care of your body so here are some tips to remember if you want to start the new year off as a healthy one too. These are all quite simple tips but I think most of us tend to forget the majority of them in our daily lives.

The most simple and maybe also the most important one; smile! Smiling can trick your brain into happiness, even if you feel sad. So even if your smile is not genuine and you don't feel really happy in the moment, you can fake it and there will still happen a chemical reaction in your brain. It might look a little odd to sit and keep faking smiles, but if you want to reduce stress and lower your heart rate, it is definitely worth it!

Everybody probably tells you this and you read it in every health magazine. REMEMBER TO DRINK WATER! Every evening when I look back at the day I realize I most of the time only had 1 or 2 glasses of water, which is way too less. Since our bodies are made 60% out of water it is important to keep it hydrated. Drinking enough water has a major effect on your energy level through the day, so if you feel tired a lot, try to start drinking more water!
P.S. It also helps with weight loss.

First of all: HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. I wish everyone the best of luck and lots of love in 2019. Good luck to you all as you move towards the next chapter that life brings your way. We celebrated the evening yesterday at my place and then explored the city of Amsterdam a bit and watched all the beautiful fireworks. This morning I had brunch with one of my dearest friends Ingeborg, which I have known for 15 years this year (we just realized this morning). We made eggs benedict with salmon and croissants and mimosas so it was pretty delicious as you can see in the photos.

I am so grateful for 2018 for what it has brought me and I hope that 2019 will be a wonderful year too! There are so many new things I want to see, do and achieve in 2019, I hope I can make them all happen. I won't tell you all of mine because I am quite superstitious and I don't want to jinx anything, haha, but one of them is that I wish to go to New York this year (I have never been!).

What are your wishes/goals/resolutions for this new year?

5 beauty tips

Winter is coming and for me, that means super dry skin. I am sure I am not the only one so a lot of you know this can be so annoying. When you apply makeup and there is a flaky spot, get rid of it with scotch tape. Just put a little piece of tape on the dry spot, rip it off and your skin will look smooth again! This makes applying foundation so much easier and you don't have to exfoliate your already sensitive skin.

The pink animal on the right is a handbag I made, hopefully available very soon. Stay tuned in 2019 ;)

So today was a big day for me because my Christmas Holiday officially started today (I work a couple of hours from home next week but that does not count hehe). Finally, there is time to relax and enjoy all the holiday festivities with family and friends. I have been looking forward to these two weeks so much because of 1. I absolutely LOVE Christmas and 2. I have been so busy lately I think I don't even know how to relax anymore. That is why next week my boyfriend and I also are going to a spa, and what is more relaxing than 2 days of sauna's, massages and pampering! I will write more about the spa next week :) Another exciting thing is that we are going to Rome in exactly two weeks from now. If anyone has tips on where to eat in Rome, must see things in Rome etc, please let me know. I have only been there once and I would love to explore some new local places.

Today I started the morning with cleaning and organizing my whole apartment and after that planted my lazy ass on the couch where I still am. I did some reading and thesis research on fashion & semiotics and finally ordered my NYE outfit. I find it extremely difficult to find a New Years Eve dress every year because there is so much choice and I never know what to pick. At first I wanted to go for a sequin kimono this year but in the end, I decided I am wearing a little black dress with feathers on the sleeves. If you have the same problem as I do, then check out some examples I have listed for you below. Hopefully, you will like some of the NYE outfit ideas! For readers from the US; if you shop your dress from Misguided you can use the Misguided discount code babe40 for a 40% discount! You will get 40% discount on everything, so don't forget to use it :) Click here to shop!

I guess you can say that I am addicted to face masks. Some of my favorites are fresh face masks from Lush and the cloth masks from Sephora, but I am also a big fan of DIY masks. It just makes you feel so healthy and fresh when you make them yourself.  When I was younger my mom always made me this facemask and I love it so much I wanted to share it with you :) It is super easy to make and you only need 4 ingredients;

2 Tbs. Honey – hydrates and makes your skin soft. Honey is also antibacterial.
1 small cup of Yoghurt – minimizes your pores and gives your face a nice glow. Works against impurities.
3 Tbs. Olive oil – makes your skin silky soft.
1 small cup of Oatmeal – calms the skin and is anti-inflammatory.

Parijs, Frankrijk

Paris is definitely one of my favorite cities in the whole world and I can't even count how many times I have been there. I love Paris so much that I feel homesick everytime I leave. Maybe I will move there one day... For now, I try and visit the city at least once a year and that is going pretty well so far. These pictures are a throwback from the last time I was there this February (such a long time ago!!). I went there to visit the giant fabric event called Premiere Vision. This is an event held twice a year where basically everyone from the fashion industry goes to buy fabrics for new collections or find inspiration. It was so big it was insane and I met a lot of suppliers of leather, fabric, hardware etc. On the photos, I am wearing a nice and warm fur coat because it gets really cold in Paris (not as cold as in Copenhagen though!).
Check out some other furry wintercoats below! Maybe a nice idea for a Christmas gift? ;)

I find it extremely difficult to buy Christmas Presents. Every year I am struggling because I can not decide what to buy for all my loved ones. I figured I am not the only one with this problem so I decided to help you out a little. These are some examples of Christmas gifts you can buy for your mother, sister, girlfriend or another nice girl you know. The two flamingos for example are a pepper and salt set for in your kitchen. How cute is that?
